Our respected experts have worked with educators, parents and stakeholders to provide broad-ranging activities in education and youth areas, including:

  • Developing and conducting multi-level, internal and external approaches to explore issues affecting Tribal youth including education, employment, and workforce readiness. DI staff assesses Tribal and community programming, resources, support, and opportunities available to tribal youth.
  • Facilitating collaborative partnerships with local youth providers to obtain grant funding, and create and implement direct services that incorporate education and job training.
  • Conducting needs assessments and focus groups for school districts, community youth providers, and city, state and tribal governments, which engage diverse student populations.
  • Designing and maintaining public education websites utilizing a variety of platforms and tools.
  • Developing programs and securing grant funding for innovative programming such as: Healthy Tomorrows, YouthBuild, Youth Corps, Street Science Program, River Restoration Programs, and Green Industries.
  • Designing and implementing effective strategies and award-winning recovery and prevention programming that engages community leaders and stakeholders to connect with students who did not complete their high school education and students who are at high-risk for leaving school early.
  • Developing and securing funding to implement Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) projects for at-risk youth.
  • Developing, implementing and evaluating environmental service learning projects.
