In an effort to maximize safety on our transportation system, the New Mexico Department of Transportation is leading a project to develop a strategic highway safety plan that comprehensively examines all surface transportation modes (highway, rail, transit, bike, pedestrian). “Comprehensive” means we need and value participation from a range of safety partners to both develop and implement the plan.
This conference is a one-day work group meeting to initiate development of the New Mexico Strategic Highway Safety Plan. Through collaboration we can share our collective wisdom and resources, to increase our capabilities to reduce fatalities and serious injuries from traffic crashes in New Mexico.
This conference is for:
All Federal and State transportation agencies including; Regional transportation planning organizations and metropolitan planning organizations, representatives of major modes of transportation, state and local traffic enforcement officials, highway-rail grade crossing representatives, representatives conducting a motor carrier safety program, motor vehicle administration agencies, city, county, and tribal transportation officials, state representatives of non motorized users, other federal, state, tribal, and local safety stakeholders.
