Guiding Concepts

DI brings a unique understanding of ethnically diverse populations to the design of its projects and the implementation of its ground-breaking initiatives. DI has extensive experience serving and working with disadvantaged and disparate populations through multiple successful projects. DI has extensive experience working with hard to reach populations, such as Spanish speaking immigrants, Native Americans, pregnant teens, economically disadvantaged and/or homeless youth, high school dropouts, substance abusers, and other disparate populations. DI staff has worked with diverse groups to include individuals who are Hispanic, American Indian, African-American, Anglo-American, and individuals with disabilities. DI staff conducts culturally responsive activities, which takes into account the culture of the programs and businesses involved. DI staff honors the cultural context of each participant and their shared life experiences and understandings.
